As a psychotherapist, I believe that genuine connection, compassion, and nurturance play pivotal roles in healing the mind, body, and spirit. I honor the unique backgrounds that influence who we are as individuals, while acknowledging that we have universal longings to find meaning, love, and joy. I am fortunate to have an innate ability to deeply feel others’ emotions, and I use this insight as a building block to assist clients in recognizing the ways in which their patterns, reactions, and perspectives impact their relationships with themselves and others.
My heart-centered approach to therapy is interactive, experiential, and designed to create a transformative and meaningful experience in order for clients to increase their depth of processing, self-compassion, and authenticity. I emphasize the here-and-now and utilize the therapeutic relationship in session as vehicles for emotional processing and risk-taking. Tending to physical sensations, behaviors, thoughts, feelings, and emotions in real-time provides insight into limiting paradigms that we unconsciously adhere to and encourages full engagement in present-moment awareness.
I strive to create a therapeutic experience that not only addresses clients' past and present concerns, but also equips people with valuable skills for navigating future challenges. I passionately believe that individuals have an inherent ability to heal and grow, as I have witnessed profound transformations resulting from intentionally working through struggles and traumas.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Bradley University and my Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Colorado Denver. My personal and professional development emphasizes evidence- and systems-based therapies in the treatment of trauma, grief and loss, perinatal mental health challenges, eating disorders, depression, and anxiety issues. I have received specialized training in attachment-based and trauma-informed approaches to individual, couple, and family therapy. I am also a meditation practitioner and a student of analytical psychology.
