Do you offer teletherapy?

Yes, sessions are teletherapy only.
Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I am in-network with BCBS PPO and Blue Choice PPO, United Healthcare PPO, and Aetna PPO. If you are using out-of-network insurance, I will provide you with a superbill that you can submit directly to your insurance company. Please read the Good Faith Billing/No Surprise Act below.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are uninsured or choose not to use their insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected costs of their healthcare services before treatment begins.
Your Good Faith Estimate will outline the anticipated cost of psychotherapy services based on your treatment plan. Because therapy is individualized, the total cost of care may vary depending on the frequency and duration of treatment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill.

What are your self-pay session fees?

My fee for the initial intake appointment is $175. This first session is 60 minutes and provides an opportunity to discuss your concerns, gather background information, and develop an understanding of your goals for therapy.
Ongoing psychotherapy sessions are $160 for 53–55 minute appointments. These sessions focus on supporting your therapeutic goals and building on the work completed in previous sessions. Please read the Good Faith Billing/No Surprise Act below.
Do you provide emergency or crisis services?

My practice provides outpatient psychotherapy services and does not offer emergency or crisis care.
If you or someone else is experiencing a mental health emergency or is in immediate danger, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. You can also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for immediate support.
I understand that schedules change and that there may be times when you are unable to attend your session. If you need to cancel or reschedule, A Curious Heart Psychotherapy requires 24 hours notice in order to avoid a $100 cancellation fee. Please note that missed sessions can not be billed to insurance.

Can I still have a session if I am out of town?

In order to attend a teletherapy appointment you must be physically located in a state where I am licensed: Illinois, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Ohio.
